About Us
Asperger Parent Network (APN) had its beginnings in October of 2001 when two mothers of children with Asperger's Syndrome, Carolyn Warden and Annette Wilkes, met at an Asperger parents meeting sponsored by Raising Special Kids. While Raising Special Kids was the catalyst for the first meeting, Carolyn and Annette were on their own after that, with the exception of free advertising through Raising Special Kid's newsletter. Gabrielle Koza made a significant contribution when she created our website and e-group in July 2002. Also APN members who have made a significant contribution as past APN Board members include Laura Beth Roberts, Janine Miller, Annette Wilkes and Gabrielle Koza.

APN holds parent meetings in the evening typically on the third Thursdays of the month except in July and December. Meeting places vary. See page "APN Events" for meeting details.

Asperger Parent Network became an Arizona Non-Profit Corporation in March of 2003. Our board officers are: Carolyn Warden, President; Jim Warden, Treasurer; Cara and Nathan Malmrose, Barb Honiberg, George King, Sharon Moeller and David Garland. Carolyn Warden is the E-group moderator and Linda Lewis is the webmaster. All are APN parents.

Confidentiality Statement
Confidentiality is an honored component of APN. Without it no sense of trust and commitment will develop. All families of APN are free to share whatever they desire relative to autism spectrum disorders, since one of the purposes of the network is to allow for freedom in expressing our experiences and ideas. Families should be free to say whatever is in their hearts without experiencing a spirit of negative judgment. Whatever is shared in the group stays in the group. There is no discussing or sharing comments or contents of private information with anyone outside the group. Our goal in this matter is to respect all ideas and contributions and treat others as we would want to be treated.
